Who do you build commercial fencing for?
- Oil-field service companies and equipment yards around Bakersfield and Oildale.
- Pipe, vehicle and materials storage lots.
- Warehouses and distribution sites, including those near Shafter.
- Agricultural operations: shops, pump sites and packing areas.
- Retail and office properties that want a cleaner street-facing fence.
What fence types do you install?
- Heavy-gauge chain link with taller fabric and thicker posts.
- Barbed wire arms where zoning allows them.
- Ornamental steel for frontages and customer-facing areas.
- Cantilever slide gates and swing gates for truck access, with openers and access control on request.
Is barbed wire allowed on a Bakersfield business?
In the commercial and industrial zones listed in the city's code, barbed or electrified wire is allowed only if its lowest strand is at least 6 feet 3 inches above the highest adjoining grade. It cannot hang over neighboring property or a public right-of-way, must angle toward the owner's side or run vertically, and is subject to building director approval. In the agricultural zone, it must be at least 1,300 feet from a residential area.
What about oil-field and lease sites?
Lease and well sites often have fencing requirements from the operator or a regulator, plus site safety and access rules for crews. We build to the specification you or the operator provide and follow your site safety requirements. Sites in unincorporated Kern County follow county rules rather than the city's.
How do you price commercial work?
Per site, in a written quote. Fabric height, gauge, post size, gate count, openers, wire and site access all change the number. Published ranges for installed chain link start around $10 to $30 per linear foot as of October 2026, with commercial specs usually higher.
Planning for wind on a large site?
Open chain link handles wind well, but slats or windscreen add a lot of load. If you need screening, plan posts and footings for it from the start. See wind-proofing a fence.
