What gates do you install?
- Walk gates in wood, vinyl, chain link or metal.
- Double swing driveway gates for RV, boat and trailer access.
- Cantilever slide gates, which ride above the ground and keep working when dust and debris pile up.
- Automatic openers with remotes or keypads.
- Self-closing, self-latching gates for pools.
How do you stop a gate from slamming in the wind?
Heavier hinges, a drop rod or cane bolt on double gates, and a latch that holds the gate both open and shut. A strong gust can tear a loose gate off its hinges or bend a frame, so on exposed lots we add a hold-open catch.
Why do wood gates sag here?
Wide wood gates sag because the wood dries and shrinks while the gate's weight pulls on the hinge side. A welded steel frame behind the boards, or a diagonal brace that runs the right direction, keeps the gate square.
What will a gate cost?
As of October 2026, published guides put a basic walk gate at roughly $400 to $2,000 installed, and driveway or security gates at roughly $2,000 to $12,000. Openers and commercial slide gates sit at the upper end.
Swing or slide?
Choose a swing gate where there is room for it to open. Choose a slide gate on a sloped or short driveway, or wherever wind and dust make swing gates a chore.
